SOUTH TOWER FLEA MARKET
2010
Redundant items, extra items from box lots at auction, cool and
interesting
things that don't fit in anywhere else on the site.
A lot of them are "one of a kind" items, and therefore may have sold
since the date up above. Well, its a flea market. I'll just
have to keep it updated! So I respectfully request that you bookmark
this
page and come back regularly. I keep a pot of coffee brewing in
back..help
yourself....
For these items, I happily accept any form of currency....tradebank
dollars, Canadian Tire Coupons, Canadian, US, or Australian dollars,
Japanese Yen, whatever....grin! This IS a flea market.
There is a currency exchange site "HERE"
which you can use to convert to Kroner or Yuan if you
wish.

Bat-arangs
Okay, I admit it. I got an idea in my head t'other day when I
watched
the movie. I figured, heck, how difficult would it be to make
these!
So I dug out some 12 gauge steel and cut them out, filed them into
shape!
No guarantees they can fly! But they ARE solid steel, and do not
have an edge, so they should be safe at the convention. (one
thing
I forgot to put into them is a hole for the bat-cord...oh well, thats
easily
remedied!) 8 inches long.
Item 11 Bat-arangs, each....$13.00 Canadian Dollars
(down from $18.00)
Item 12
Sharpening Stones
We got a bunch of these in a box lot at auction. Didn't pay more
than a buck and a half each for them. You want 'em, we have
several
at the same price we paid....
Item 12 sharpening stone, in package.....$1.25
Item 13
Ceramic Decorative Tile
(click on picture to see full tile)
I picked up a whole slew of these Wyverns, all I have left are two of
them.
They are ceramic (not cement!) and are considered to be very chi-chi.
They
are awfully nice! They are seven inches wide, six inches high.
Item 13, Ceramic Tile Wyvern $80.00
(down from $150.00)
Item 14
Silver Plate Ewer
A classic water pitcher, silver plate, no dents or damage of any
kind.
Hallmarked on the bottom. Picture of the hallmark HERE.
I didn't polish this up for the pictures because, well, mirrors don't
photograph
well! Ten minutes with the Silvo and its all purty again though.
Item 14 Silver Plate Ewer $20.00
(down from $35.00)
Item 15
Italian Leather Covered Bottle
Okay, I admit...I have a fondness for ships. And Italian
leather.
And the bottle. Whats not to like! This bottle is in perfect
prisine
condition, and is probably about 40 years old. The leather is
glued
to the bottle with waterproof hide glue, and the tooling is deep and
effective.
I have a dispute with somebody that this is Spanish, however I don't
see
any moorish influence, and I don't see any of that nice moroccan red
leather
they use so much in Spain, so I am sticking to my story...its Italian.
Item 14 Italian Leather Covered
Bottle $15.00
Item 15
Candle Lanterns
A matched set of lanters which I was using to decorate my sword booth
at
the festival. It was midnight madness, and I needed something to
be able to find the bathrooms! These burn votive candles, have a
cage around them to protect them, and a little chimney cap to keep rain
out and to protect your fingers from getting singed when you carry
them.
The amber glass makes for a nice mood. I used them only
once...they
work fine. Sold only as a matched set.
Item 15 Candle Lanterns, matched set of two
...$15.00
(Originally priced at $30.00)
Item 16
Copper Ewer
Solid copper, hand beaten copper ewer...no dents but lots of hammer
marks.
Provenance unknown, but it was in with a box of items from
Corsica.
No hallmarks. One of the best examples of the metal beater's art
I have ever seen, and I have seen lots! This should be a museum
piece!
Item 16, Hand beaten copper ewer....$300.00
(originally priced at $350)
Item 17
Handmade Damascus Bowie Knife
(click on image to see it full size)
This Handmade Bowie Knife is made by area artist Den
Beauvais
in Wally Hayes shop under Master Bladesmith Wally Hayes supervision.
They
were great friends. It is a stunning knife, VERY well made,
useing
brass and ebony in the handle. The handmade scabbard is
serviceable
enough, but the real glory of this knife is in the flat stack pattern
welded
blade. I have included a pencil in the picture above for you to
see
that this is not just a silly little trial piece, but a full size
replica
of the famous blade that Raison Bowie made for his little brother
Jim.
Here are a couple of other pictures, closeups.

Absolutely
a one of a kind item!

$2400.00 Dollars

Signed Gil Hibben Raven
This was the first edition of the Raven. This was the first use of
"black
chrome" in a production knife, and at the time, it was a technological
breakthrough. Gil Hibben was tickled pink when Den wanted
to
purchase it directly FROM the designer, and so this scabbard carries
Gil's
signature.
The Raven is no longer
in production, and so it is more and more becoming a serious
collectors'
item. I personally like it because it is a useable knife, and
doesn't
look at outre as Mr. Hibbens later offerings.
Signed Gil Hibben "Raven" collectible
knife.......$175.00
Canadian Dollars

with any promotion such as Tradebank or South Tower Dollars.)
