Our collection of interesting links from around the web! I promise that a visit to these places will be seriously worth your time and effort!

this site has been updated in January 2012

logo    The Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna (The Malta Heritage Trust)  is the non-government body which takes care of ancient monuments in the Republic of Malta.  Their mandate is not as scholarly as that of Heritage Malta, and the more popular re-enactments are refreshing and different.  Their website is found on this page....WIRTARTNA

My Favorite Libraries...
Various people's works I think are worth checking out!

The Academy of European Medieval Martial Arts (AEMMA) (http://www.aemma.org)
To quote the site: "The mission of A.E.M.M.A. is to resurrect the combat skills, philosophies and principles of an accomplished European Medieval martial artist and to achieve a state of which would be consistent with that of a 15th century warrior in both technology and ideal."
What could be more appropriate for a medievalist?

http://www.bladeturner.com/     David Heirtzler maintains this site which is devoted to chain maille, and helping people who are fairly new to the craft of war harness making.

http://nadler.us/armour.html     Craig Nadler publishes patterns on his web site because he believes people should make steel clothing.  Thats okay by me....least I can do is say "good on ya Criag!"

http://www.chronique.com/Everything you would ever want to know about the Middle Ages!  Highly recommended!

The Archive is an on-line Journal devoted to teaching people how to make armour. I try to gather as much armouring information as I can to help beginner armourers avoid reinventing the wheel, and to help advanced armourers grasp the finer points of armouring.

The collection of essays found within this site is just one source available. The message boards on the Archive are frequented by many advanced armourers who willingly share their knowledge with newcomers to the craft. Please, do not hesitate to ask any question. I have also set aside areas of this website for people who try to re-create medieval combat. After all, if there weren't warriors dressed in armour, who would we sell our wares to???

A Pictoral Glossary of Arms and Armour

Click on the above to see Greg Daub's wonderful glossary of armour.  This is part of his fine armouring site...http://www.messiah.edu/hpages/facstaff/gdaub/armor/home.htm

Eric has been my very good friend and mentor for more than ten years now.  His armour is truly poetry in steel, and much of the armour on my site is made by him.  He is starting to become well known in the armouring community, and a I commend anybody interested in museum quality armour to visit him and his site.
He is also heavily involved in a wonderful boffer based live action role playing adventure involving hundreds of warriors, orcs and elves in a gorgeous fully costumed event called Bicolline. You have to see this to believe it!

A remarkable collection of links from across the web. I start browsing at this site, and am lost for two days!!! At first I thought this was all in Hungarian, however, the links are mostly all in English, and heck...pictures have no language!   This is a very neat place to visit!

Now here is a really cool place! A castle and museum, and an art gallery all on 3 dozen acres of land just off Georgian Bay! This took me by surprise, seeing as how its a little off the beaten track about two hours drive north of Toronto, but here is the real thing...a guy with the passion to create a mini-theme park smack in the middle of cottage country! Unspoiled, and clearly worth the drive!

Brenda and I have always been impressed by the high quality of this Ottawa Restaurant! Good home cooking like Baba used to make! A glass of Krupnik and a slice of feather-light peach cheesecake to pack down your Hungarian Goulash or Schnitzel will leave you very, very happy indeed! If you come to Ottawa to visit us, this is where we would take you for dinner.

Another Links Portal, but OH, WHAT a PORTAL!

Castles on the web are a link exchange site.  They have a remarkably complete collection of really wonderful sites like mine, all carefully indexed and detailed.  Just exactly what you need when you need to get surfing!  Highly recommended by my staff.

Jim's Soapstone Carvings

Tactile, and exciting.  Craftsmanship at its finest in a most difficult medium.

DenverFabrics.com
- http://www.denverfabrics.com

Fabric for fashion, dancewear, costumes, rug hooking, crafts and home decor. Many silk, wool, and linen designer fabrics. Prices often at or below wholesale fabric pricing. Also sewing notions, trims, books and patterns at discount.

Actually, not such a bad site.  I did a link exchange with them, but they didn't send me a picture, so I guess you will just have to visit!

hypogeum

 Malta Heritage
what can I say?  Here is a portal on the most fascinating country in Europe.  If you visit no other country in Europe but this one, you will die happy.
