LIVE STEEL FIGHT TRAINING
Okay, so we don't go charging into live steel training right off the
bat! Maybe we are smarter than that! So, what we do is
start
with bokuns and shields. (Thats me, Bill Fedun, the guy with the
beard above. And my partner in this venture, Jean Vallaincourt,
in
back in the chain mail.) The basic course is the same one as on
my
lesson plan (Yusef's Lesson Plan in the Library on this web site) but
with
a lot of extras. It is the extras like bits of Kenjuitsu, and
other
techniques which are so important.
We have had a remarkable mix of people in our classes.
Some were martial arts experts, some were just off the street.
Nobody
thought the time was wasted. Most people felt that this basic course
should
have continued on to encompass martial arts philosophy, armour types
and
standards, and more weapons forms.We concurred, so we created an
advanced
course.
Jean (the dude in the chain mail shirt pics below) wants to take this
course on the road. I will happily do the basic course if you
like
in your own backyard...for the standard martial arts fee of course. (as
of spring 2011, it was $600.00 for 8 hours for up to 24 people.)
